Danko’s Challenger Shaker – Why it Speeds Ahead of the Competition

Danko Reproductions is perhaps best known for their shaker systems. Moshe and his team were the first in the world to offer a shaker hood scoop for the Challenger, an impressive feat for the custom car parts company.

The Dodge Challenger sealed shaker is an innovative, performance-enhancing system that directs air through a very short 6 inches of 4” ID silicone hose before being pushed into the sealed filter box. This is important because with other systems, the air travels back and forth, for much longer distances, through the entire extremely hot fiberglass lower-hood brace work. This causes unnecessary turning before finally entering the filter bay. Other shakers also tend to rely on inferior (and often inadequate) “semi-sealing” techniques on the bottom, sides and top of the air box as well as the place where air transfers from the shaker to the back of the hood. These rubber, trim-lined fiberglass ports are intended to seal the shaker, hood and air box, but are far inferior to Danko’s completely sealed-air system. Our Dodge Challenger ram-air hood scoop is clamped with stainless steel T-bolts, clamps, three-ply pressure tested (for turbos) silicone hoses and a heavy-duty double-lined (insulated) air box lid that tightly snaps onto the factory lower-air box with a tightly-sealed lid with no air leaks. Finally, our system features a rubber plug for the bottom of the air box, creating the tightest possible all-around seal.
